Alternative finance provider ThinCats has appointed Paul Turner as senior director in its healthcare team as it continues to expand its lending proposition in the sector.
Turner joins from Santander, where he was relationship director in the bank’s healthcare division. He brings over 30 years of banking experience, including two decades specialising in the healthcare sector with a focus on long-term specialist and elderly care and primary care services. His previous roles include senior positions at Barclays and RBS.
The appointment forms part of ThinCats’ wider growth strategy in healthcare, a sector in which it has deployed more than £250m in funding since establishing its dedicated team in 2020.
Richard Henshaw, Head of Healthcare at ThinCats, said Turner would play a strategic role in supporting high-growth businesses across the sector. Chief Commercial Officer Mike Hackett described the hire as a reflection of the lender’s ambition to increase support for mid-sized healthcare operators.
Commenting on his new role, Turner said: ‘I’m very pleased and excited to be joining ThinCats as it expands its support for healthcare businesses across the UK. I’m looking forward to working with Richard and Mike as well as the rest of the team at ThinCats.’
