Ramsay Health Care UK’s mobile diagnostics service (RDUK) has become the first mobile service to be awarded the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) Quality Mark.
Developed by the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and the College of Radiographers (CoR), the QSI Quality Mark recognises high standards in imaging services and supports ongoing quality improvement. The accreditation, which forms part of a three-year cycle, sets out rigorous criteria in areas such as patient care, safety, and service effectiveness.
According to RDUK, the inspection found the service exceeded expectations in MRI safety, IR(ME)R procedures and equipment management.
Operations director for diagnostic services Lisa Powell said the award was the result of ‘hard work and dedication’ from the mobile diagnostics team. Head of diagnostic services Clare House said the accreditation demonstrated RDUK’s focus on continuous improvement and patient-centred care.
RDUK joins a group of just 15 NHS and independent imaging services across the UK to hold the QSI Quality Mark.
In a letter confirming the award, the presidents of the RCR and CoR said the assessment team was impressed by the ‘skill and professionalism’ of RDUK staff and described the outcome as a step towards greater patient confidence and more efficient service delivery.
