Parklands Care Homes to grow capacity as demand rises

Parklands Care Homes plans to grow capacity at its Eilean Dubh setting in Fortrose, Ross-shire, due to rising demand for places.

Parklands has submitted plans to The Highland Council to add four bedrooms to the home, which opened in 2021. Plans also include four additional parking spaces within the car park. Total investment is estimated at around £500,000.

Elsewhere in the Highlands, Parklands plans to create 12 additional bedrooms at Innis Mhor care home in Tain, and 10 more at Lynemore in Grantown-on-Spey.

Meanwhile, its new 58-bed care home in Inverness, Pittyvaich, is on track to open mid-June. The building is due to be handed over by contractors Capstone Construction at the end of this month.

‘We are seeing strong demand for care services across the Highlands, and we’re doing what we can to meet that urgent need by creating an additional 84 places in Inverness, Tain, Fortrose and Grantown. This investment will ensure that more older people can receive high quality care close to their families and communities,’ said Parklands managing director Ron Taylor.
