OneWelbeck expands diagnostic capacity

Central London-based OneWelbeck has announced a major expansion of its imaging and diagnostic centre to meet growing demand.

The expanded site includes a MAGNETOM Sola and a MAGNETOM Vida MRI scanner from Siemens Healthineers. In addition, the centre has installed a new volumetric 3-dimensional CT scanner, and four additional phlebotomy pods.

OneWelbeck Imaging & Diagnostics centre director Matt Birchenough said the new CT ensures faster scans with lower contrast and radiation doses, improving patient experience and safety.

‘We are currently in the process of applying sequences from Doctor Peter Kellman, a physicist from the USA, to enhance our cardiac scanning efficiency and image quality. These have been known to take the scan time down by up to half,’ he added.
