Rachael Shimmin has been appointed Newcastle social services head of commissioning and partnerships. She will focus on services to adults. Shimmin joins from Gateshead Council where she held the post of looked after children services manager. The Newcastle post has been vacant since former head of commissioning and partnerships Maurice Bates left last June….
