New tool to compare councils’ performance

The Department for Education and Skills has published a new statistical benchmarking tool for local authorities.Councils that are deemed to have similar characteristics can use the tool to compare performance against their ‘statistical neighbour’ following procedures outlined in the accompanying practitioner user guide.
