LaingBuisson launching online independent healthcare database

LaingBuisson is poised to launch a fully searchable online database of all registered independent healthcare services and NHS Private Patient Units (PPUs) in the UK.

HealthSearch has been developed at a time of rising demand for private healthcare across all payor groups to provide a comprehensive overview of the sector, searchable by geography, operator, sub-sector, specialism and quality rating.

It includes data on over 200 acute hospitals, 30 day surgery units, 250 mental health hospitals and 75 NHS PPUs, alongside 1,500 clinics, 500 diagnostics services and 425 community health facilities among others.

Aimed at operators, investors, suppliers, commissioners and regulators, the online portal combines public information with LaingBuisson’s proprietary data, built up over more than 30 years, to facilitate multiple search requirements. Data can be displayed online and in map format, and downloaded for further analysis. The portal also includes hyperlinks to CQC pages and operators.

LaingBuisson head of data Joe Foley said: ‘For the past 12 months, our expert data team has been diligently researching the independent healthcare sector, and now we’re excited to introduce the first-of-its-kind database, available on an easy-to-use platform ready for you to explore. Whether you’re seeking acquisition opportunities, sizing up competitors, or searching for local private GPs, HealthSearch delivers live, detailed information tailored to your needs. At the provider level, you’ll find comprehensive financial data and service portfolios at the click of a button. As the only non-statutory body accredited by the ONS, this product further solidifies LaingBuisson’s leadership in the sector – and there’s more to come as we continue adding data and features in the months ahead.’

The new service will officially launch at the beginning of October.
