HCML appoints head of healthcare trusts

Apposite Capital-backed rehabilitation and case management provider HCML has appointed Carolyn Derrington as head of healthcare trusts as it looks to expand its position in the corporate health and wellbeing market.

Derrington (pictured) has more than 35 years’ experience in corporate health. She spent the last decade in senior roles at Bupa, including head of large corporate client management, with responsibility for client and intermediary account management. Previous roles include head of business development at Aviva and business development manager at Nuffield Health.

In her new role, Derrington will oversee the development and operational management of HCML’s healthcare trust proposition, working with the business development team to support growth in the corporate sector.

Chief executive James Murray said Derrington’s knowledge of the market made her well placed to support the company’s ambitions. ‘Our new differentiated Trust proposition is a core pillar in our corporate health and wellbeing strategy and a key component of our growth as we move forward,’ he said.

Derrington said HCML’s trust offering would provide an efficient alternative for corporates managing health and wellbeing costs.
