Achieve together invests £1.4m to strengthen properties

Achieve together is investing £1.4m to strengthen three Grade II listed properties, as part of a capital investment programme.

Work is underway across Arrowe Hall in Merseyside, Cerrig Camu in Snowdonia National Park, and Sail Close in Norfolk, as it focuses on resident experience and futureproofing the specialist homes.

It is investing £500,000 in Arrowe Hall, which is undergoing a two-year restoration, including the repair of over 400 sash windows. Cerrig Camu is also having £500,000 of investment that includes roof works, chimney stabilisation, and drainage improvements. Finally, Sail Close is having upgrades worth £360,000, including structural remediation, tar renewal on brickwork, and restoration of features.

‘We are investing not only in bricks and mortar but in dignity, sustainability and the delivery of high-quality support,’ said Chris Saunders, chief financial officer for Achieve together. ‘These properties aren’t just buildings – they are people’s homes and part of their story. They deserve to be safe, inspiring and cared for, just like the people who live in them.’

Achieve together supports over 2,500 adults in 450-plus residential and supported living settings.

It said investors, funders, and local authority commissioners are increasingly scrutinising the estate condition of social care providers and that poorly maintained environments not only increase reactive spend and insurance risk but also correlate with poorer regulatory outcomes.
